the first day
Yesterday marked my last day of work. It's a very strange feeling knowing I'm not going to step foot in the office for the next two months. At the end of the day, I cleaned off my desk and tidied my desktop folders. Welcome motherhood.
So now it's just a waiting game. I have an induction scheduled for this Friday (one day after my due date), which wasn't my original plan, but the placentas of GD patients tend to prematurely decay, so I don't really have much of a choice. I can only hope he decides to make an appearance naturally a couple days before, but we'll see.
The bathroom renovation is not going as well as planned. I woke up this morning to find our new toilet packed back into the box it came in - meaning it's defective. We had to special order it, so I'm praying I have a working toilet by the time I get out of the hospital. Stumbling out to our cold garage bathroom numerous times in the middle of the night is getting very old. Bobby is working around the clock on the bathroom, so it has nothing to do with him - it's just bad luck.
So, I'm looking ahead to the next week. I'm going to focus on doing everything I won't be able to do once a baby is in the picture, like sit in silence, sleep-in, run meaningless errands, read, craft and perhaps a little cooking.
